Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
In excellent condition throughout, the front of the piece has an ornate ‘T’ engraving and on the reverse side the date ‘25th December 1914’ is engraved. There is a small ding in the top right corner and apart from slight surface scratching throughout the outside of the compact is in very good to excellent condition.

The hallmarks for Birmingham 1910 are visible on the inside on the compact as well as the makers mark of Williams of Birmingham. The gilt interior is in excellent condition and is visually very striking. There is a spring loaded florally engraved card holder which is designed to hold a card(s) in place against the inside of the compact and opposite this is a ‘swinging page’, which features a mirror and on the opposite side what appears to be a notepad page. Below this is another hinged ‘page’ which acts as a lid for a small rectangular compartment on the reverse side of the front of the item. The entirety of the inside is in excellent condition and is beautiful to view.
