Unusual Hallmarked Silver Christening Mug 1919

Description

Unusual design christening mug in excellent usable condition.

The item is fully hallmarked ,it has the anchor mark for the Birmingham assay office,the lion denoting silver,the date letter " U " for 1919 and the makers mark of L.& S. which is the silversmith company of Phineas Harris Levi and Josepth Wolfe Salaman founded in 1892 in the Birmingham jewellery quarter.

The mug is 3.5 inches tall and is 2.375 inches diameter at the top (88mm x 60mm) all sizes aprox.,the mug weighs 72 grams.

The condition is excellent, the inside surface is gilded, and it will make a superb special gift for a christening or just look good in your display cabinet.
