The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
In a tapering form, this casket stands elegantly on its four paw feet. The top is engraved with a floral swag and bow and there is an empty circular cartouche.
The interior is fitted beautifully.
There are old scratch marks across the gilding inside the lid and surface abrasions on the top of the lid, showing that this casket has been used in the past.

The hallmarks are on the front, clearly showing the Assay office mark for Birmingham 1911 and the maker's mark of Harrison & Hipwood. There is also a partial hallmark inside the lid.
A lovely item.
