Antique Solid Silver Snuff Box 1911

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a good quality solid sterling silver snuff box, made by the silversmith company, S Blanckensee & Sons Ltd.

It has an engine turned decoration to the top, with a blank, circular cartouche.

The inside is gilded, with a clear hallmark on the rim of the base and a partial hallmark on the side of the lid. The hallmark is for Chester 1911.

The hinge is good and the lid fits tightly.

This snuff box has been used and there are a couple of small 'dings' to the base and general light abrasion marks, but nothing worse than would be expected of an antique of this age.
