An Extremely Rare Pair of George II Onslow Pattern Silver Serving Spoons.

A superb and rather rare pair of early 18th Century silver serving spoons in the sought after Onslow pattern. These wonderful examples have shell bowls and cast Onslow pattern shanks and terminals.

The hallmarks make them both unusual and exciting from a collector's point of view. The original marks are for London 1727 and 1735, but they were re-assayed by Charles Stuart Harris in London 1882, making them highly collectable to people interested in unusual hallmarks. The spoons are of fabulous quality and are as attractive as they are practical.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. There are faint graft marks on the shanks which are part of the construction and not repairs, as the terminal were cast not stamped.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable.

Date :- London 1727 and 1735.
