Stunning Japanese Silver and Shibayama Dish

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fantastic quality Japanese silver and shibayama dish , the dish is decorated with ten lobed segments around a decagonal central gold lacquer shibayama panel , each section is finely worked in silver wire and inset with a shibayama inlaid ivory tablet , the gold ground central panel is decorated in the finest quality shibayama with a pair of carp swimming amongst the reeds in the foreground,a blossoming prunus overhead, the dish itself is made from heavy gauge silver and stands on a super shaped silver lobed foot , the underside signed in a mother of pearl tablet.
