A superb completely original oak Charles I joint stool. The stool has all its original elements and stands on gun barrel turned and tapered legs united by stretchers. The stool has and elegantly shaped and moulded apron and the original top with all the original pegs fixing it. The top has a double moulded edge and rather unusually has one edge rounded and one edge squared, as if it were supposed to stand against a wall. This is an exceptionally rare item in this condition, with a wonderful original colour and patina. The stool has been in a private collection for years. C.1630.
