This is a lovely example of a complete 7-bottle cruet set.
The solid sterling silver is clearly hallmarked for London 1845 with the maker''s mark of Robert Death. This is not a matched set - the base, handle, spoon and each lid have corresponding hallmarks.
The bottles appear to be original and are all in good condition. Again, they are matching, with a circular cut and fan design above and below. One of the larger stoppers has a slight, smooth, length-wise groove - shown in photograph eight.
The silver base is beautifully engraved with a scroll decoration, with embossed scrolls to the edge, standing on four scrolled feet. The wooden base within is in good condition and the handle screws in tightly.
The base is oval, with a length of 18.5cm and width, 15.5cm. Height is 25cm, with the two largest bottles at 17.5cm height.
Overall, a beautiful piece.
