A Rare Georgian Silver 'Basket' Pincushion.

Description

A charming item of late Georgian sewing ware. This is a lovely silver pincushion in the form of a swing handle basket.

The base and body have basket weave design and the rim has embossed flowers. The plush cushion has probably been replaced at some point. A delightful collector's piece.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits.

Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver (not unusual for small 19th Century silver items).

Date :- c1830.

Height :- 3.5 cms (handle up).

Width :- 2.75 cms. (widest point).
