Description

A top-quality Victorian biscuit box dating to around 1880. Created from a hefty piece of crystal which has been deeply cut and sits in the silver plated cradle supported by four very grand Lion's paw feet.

The folding foliate decorated handle is hand chased or engraved as is the lid with Acanthus leave and a fabulous knob in the centre of the lid.

The underside is signed by the silversmith for top-quality Martin Hall & Co. and also marked EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

Excellent condition with a footprint measuring 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" with a lid diameter measuring 5 1/2" and standing 9 1/2" tall to top of handle while upright.
