Georgian Antique Silver Hanging Picture Frame 1923

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a lovely sterling silver oval hanging picture frame.

The hallmarks on the bottom left hand side show the maker's mark of John Gatecliff and the town and date marks as Chester 1923.

The top of the frame has a fruiting vine decoration and there is an empty rectangular cartouche at the bottom.

The back is secure with three hinges. There is a purple stone hanging from base with another hook to the right, showing that possibly another stone is missing.

Length: 17cm

Width: 12.5cm

Weight 190g
