This is a beauty!
This solid sterling silver oval dish has all the hallmarks of the skill of master silversmith William Comyns. It has a plain, slightly concave base and amazing decoration covering the sides and lips. The repousse work is sharp and clear. Hopefully our pictures will do his silverwork justice.
The hallmarks are on the base and are clearly for London 1892.
The dish is in excellent condition, with no dings or splits to the silver.
It is large enough to be used as a bread basket and decorative enough to be a dressing table tray and would have any number of uses around the home.
The dimensions are:
Length: 10.25'' / 26cm
Width: 7.5'' / 19cm
Height: 1.25'' / 3cm
Weight: 232g.
A beautiful piece in excellent condition.
