A very unusual and stylish Victorian ink stand in silver and glass. The stand is based around a silver frame with a central glass panel, the whole stands on silver bun feet. The silver frame has an elegant silver neoclassical inspired gallery. Mounted on the glass centre are a silver taperstick, match pot and striker, pen stand and silver mounted inkwell. The stand is all original and in excellent condition. The silver is all hallmarked and the main marks are on the front of the stand, all marked for Birmingham 1897, Cohen and Charles. The whole is exceptionally light and elegant foreshadowing art deco simplicity.
