Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The implement had to be efficient and unable to be easily bent. These were very popular from the mid 1700's to the end of the Edwardian era, and are much desired and prised today.
8 inches long and nearly 1.5 inches wide in the shaped bowl, this scoop was made by Barker Brothers, very good makers.
Very weighty at 85 grams.
A very good Stilton scoop, that will make a lovely gift or a treat for yourself.
In excellent condition.
