London 1904 Solid Silver Cased Service for Tea or Coffee, in Fitted Case by Wakely and Wheeler.

Description

London 1904 English hallmarked solid silver 10 piece set of tea or coffee accessories made by James Wakely and Frank Wheeler, very good makers, and retailed by Robinson and Co, on The Square in Shrewsbury.

This rare and complete and matching set comprises 6 spoons, sugar bowl, cream or milk jug and sugar tongs. They are contained in the original beautifully shaped and fitted case, which is lined in gathered silk and velvet. The whole is in very good condition, and would make a wonderful presentation for a wedding or silver wedding gift or for any occasion.

This complete service would stand alone to be used with any material tea or coffee pot.

The bowl and jug stand on hoof feet surmounted by shells.

Size of jug 4.25 inches wide by 3 inches high; bowl is 4 inches in diameter by 2.25 inches high. Fitted case total size is 11 inches wide, by 10 inches deep by 5 inches high.

Weight-275 grams.

A very classic simple and elegant design, and a most unusual and functional gift or wonderful addition to a silver collection.
