Description

A fine quality late 19thc spelter lamp 'Le Genie Humain', signed Emile Picault (1833-1915).

This piece depicts a spelter figure of a male angel holding a flambeau above his head, chained by his ankle on a red marble plinth.

The plinth has a brass plaque inscribed in French which translates to: 'Slave to earth with materialism, his soul at night seeks the light'.

This piece is in excellent working condition.
