Quality Antique English Silver Plated Serving Tray by Mappin Brothers, Dated 1897

Description

A top quality tray by a top quality English Silversmith. The tray is a very usable size measuring 16" x 12" and the handles spanning 19", so not too overwhelming, perfect for drinks or hors d'oeuvre.

The border of the tray is decorated with a cast floral and foliate motif and the handles, most decorative. The tray is covered with the most exquisite and fine engraving with the original decorative initials in the centre and the date 23rd Oct. 1897.

The underside has a full mark for the well renowned Mappin Brothers. A wonderful tray in excellent condition.
