Description

An extremely attractive silver sugar caster from the early Victorian period. It was made by the esteemed Henry Wilkinson & Co, known for their eye-catching Victorian design.

The body is of drawn baluster shape on a figured, pedestal foot. It has repousse flowers and leaves to the body and lid. The lid is pierced with stars and leaves and is pull-off. To the front is a handsome armorial.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits.

Hallmarks :- Clear, readable and matching.

Maker :- Henry Wilkinson & Co.

Base diameter :- 6 cms.

Height :- 16 cms.

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
