Description

A charming item of early Victorian sewing ware. This is a lovely silver pincushion in the form of a swing handle basket.

The base and body have basket weave design and the rim has embossed flowers. The plush cushion has probably been replaced at some point. A delightful collector's piece.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits.

Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver (not unusual for small Victorian items).

Height :- 4.5 cms (handle up).

Width :- 3 cms. (widest point).

Date of Manufacture

Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
