Antique English Sterling Silver String or Twine Box with Cutter - 1906

Description

A very handsome desk-top string or twine box in a footed spherical form with a cutting blade fitted to the top.

The top fits firmly and of course opens to change the string or twine to be used, this box comes complete with this perfectly fitting old ball of twine.

There is a full hallmark (part mark to top) for Birmingham 1906, Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present, D&F, for the well renowned silversmith, Deakin & Francis.

Excellent condition, with a footprint diameter measuring 2 3/8" and standing 3 5/8" to top of cutter. The box without the twine weighs 91.69 Grams or 2.94 Troy ounces.
