Welsh Interest Silver Sovereign Holder.

A delightful and interesting silver sovereign holder, assayed in Chester exactly 100 years ago this year. This lovely example has engraved bright cut engraving to the front and back and a shield shaped cartouche. Although the centre of the cartouche is unengraved, around the edge in Welsh is " Y Fynn Duw a Fydd", which translates as "What God wills, will be". A fine collector's item.

Condition :- Excellent, with a good hinge and no dents or splits. There is some rippling to the interior coin holder, which does not affect it's action and is commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Full readable set to body and part set to ring.
