London 1841 Very Good Quality Solid Silver Pair of Fiddle and Thread Pattern Egg Spoons.

Description

London 1841 English hallmarked solid silver pair of very nice double struck fiddle and thread pattern egg spoons with generous weight.

Made by Samuel Hayne and Dudley Cater, and having the original pale gilding in the shield shaped bowls.

An attractive double headed winged beast family crest armorial is engraved on the stems.

Victorian antique egg spoons are hard to find, particularly in this pattern.

Size-approximately 5 3/16 inches long by 1 1/8 wide bowl.

Weight-61 grams total.

A very useful pair to complete a canteen, use in an egg cruet, or now also used for serving small amounts of sauces or condiments. Also make great ice cream spoons.

A very nice Victorian heavy pair in very good antique condition, and a great gift for those who enjoy boiled eggs.

Please also see a set of 6 egg spoons listed. It is very unusual to find such a complete set.
