Description

For the equestrian collector or horse racing devotee, this figural cruet set is made from the most famous silver plate manufacturer, Elkington and dating to around 1880.

The base is a horseshoe shape with a spur terminal on the handle. At the front is an upturned Jockey's cap as an open salt with a gilded interior. The mustard and pepper are in the form of riding boots and in between a conical shaped holder, presumably for toothpicks.

The front of the horseshoe is stamped Elkington Plate. Excellent condition, measuring 5" x 4" x 3 3/4" tall.
