18th Century, London 1788 Hallmarked, Set of 4 Solid Silver Beaded Edge Spoons with Nice Family Crest.

Description

London 1788 English hallmarked solid silver set of 4 beaded edge coffee or tea spoons made by Charles Hougham, well known silversmith and brother of Solomon Hougham.

The lovely designed spoons have a full beaded edge to the stem, and a very interesting family crest of an arm held vertically with a hand holding a five pointed star surmounted by a crescent moon.

There are some lovely scrolled small initials believed to be HM below the crest.

Size-5 inches long by 1 inch wide.

Weight-53 grams.

With some minor marks to the bowls, this is a very nice and unusual set of spoons to use with tea or coffee, in good condition overall.

Also makes great keepsake gifts for babies or children.
