London 1825 Heavy Solid Silver Long Handled Condiment or Egg Spoon in the Kings Pattern by William Chawner.

Description

London 1825 English hallmarked solid silver heavy long handled condiment spoon or egg spoon by famed specialist spoon maker William Chawner II.

Made in the double struck Kings pattern, this also has a charming family crest of a bird holding a branch (possibly a sprig of holly) in its mouth.

With traces of the original gilding to the spoon, the lovely egg shaped bowl has a shell heel on reverse.

Size-5 inches long by 7/8 inches wide.

Weight-very heavy at 31 grams.

A great spoon to use for serving mustard, honey, relish, jam or eating a soft boiled egg.

The perfect addition to an antique cruet set or an excellent gift.

In very good condition overall.
