Art Deco Silver Card Suit Coffee Spoons

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A rare set of silver and enamel Art Deco coffee spoons, by Hukin and Heath, made for using while playing whist. The spoons are made in solid silver with finals in the shape of the suits of cards, these are made in enamels. The spoons each bare a full set of hallmarks for Birmingham 1922 and with the makers mark. The spoons are in perfect condition and are boxed. The box is lined with silk and pale blue velvet with a faux crocodile skin outer, the box has one or two marks and the faux crocodile is split slightly. These are a very unusual set of spoons, made to be used while playing whist, they are quite rare and I have only seen them once before.

Each spoon is 3 3/4 inch long by 3/4 of an inch. The box measures 4 3/4 by 5.
