Both sides of the case are covered with lustrous mother of pearl. There is a blank shaped cartouche on one side suitable for personalisation if desired.
The blade is solid silver. Such blades were mainly made in a precious metal to protect them from the corrosion of fruit juices and other corrosives.

Size-3 3/8 inches long closed, by .75 inches wide.
5.75 inches long open.
Weight-28 grams.
The sprung hinge is strong, and there is no damage to the mother of pearl. With just a very slight turn up of the tip of the blade, this is in very good condition overall.
A very functional and attractive antique piece for the gentleman, or a great gift for a boy.
