Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The is a all framed with a raised border created from a continuous garland of Acanthus leaves and four flowers.

The interior is lined with a combination of blue velvet on the base and navy silk to the sides; the interior of the lid is lavishly gilded.
The box is of course hallmarked, for Birmingham 1907, making this a true Edwardian example. The initials are also present, HM for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition, measuring 2" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" tall.
