Description

A charming pair of novelty late Victorian chambersticks or candlesticks in the form of Scottish Thistles.

The handle on each is used to carry the sticks and have two terminals in the from of Thistles joining the foliate bases.

The underside is where the full mark for the well renowned silversmith is found J D & S for James Dixon & Sons and EPBM for Electro Plated Britannia Metal.

Dating to around 1890, they remain in excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" across the base x 3" tall.
