A fine and hugely decorative standard lamp, dating from the nineteenth century, the lamp is in solid carved wood on a tripart base with turned solomonic column and with electrical fitting at the top. The whole has the original painted and gilded finish and all is in excellent condition, although it may have been a torchiere and converted to electric light later. The shade is a modern shade in black and gold silk purpose made to the highest standard. C.1880
