Description

Birmingham 1901 solid silver pair of ornate anointing spoon design salt spoons made by Levi and Salaman, very good makers.

Anointing spoons, the original of which dates from the 12th century, are copies of the spoon used in the coronation of Kings and Queens. Good quality examples are both highly prised and collectable.

These are a fine quality cast silver pair, in a size not often found. The original gilding remains to the bowl interiors, and the stem is decorated on both sides. They are very suitable to use with salts, or to add to a collection.

Size-2 3/8 inches long.

Weight-10 grams.

A fine pair, in a seldom found size, by excellent makers, in very good condition.

A number of salts are available if desired.
