Birmingham 1899 Solid Silver Cherub Dressing Table Jar or Vanity Pot.

Description

Birmingham 1899 English hallmarked solid silver lidded trinket or dressing table jar featuring a repousse decoration of cherubs on two sides and a leaf and scroll design, as well as crimped edges around base. There is a vacant cartouche on one side suitable for personalisation if desired.

The original gilding is retained inside the interior body and lid.

Made by T H Hazlewood & Co.

Size-2 inches high by 2 1/8 inches diameter.

Weight-40 grams.

A delightful Victorian period pot in good condition with just a few signs of wear.

A lovely piece for the dressing table or desk, to hold jewellery, cosmetics, or as a desk tidy. Also, would make a nice Christening gift to hold babies first locks.
