Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1870s.

The Lyre shaped holder is crowned with a pierced or reticulated mount surrounding a central shield-shaped cartouche.
The tray has the highly coveted English registration kite mark, but due to where it was impressed makes the date letter hard to identify, but this mark would date it to the Victorian era, around 1870.

The underside also has an impressed makers mark, J.F.G. in a shield, which I was unable to identify.
Excellent condition, this super piece remains in excellent condition, the tray measuring 5 3/4" x 3 5/8" and standing 6 1/2" tall.
