Stunning Floor Lamp - Telescopic - c1900
This gilt metal and mahogany standard lamp is flawlessly presented.
An elongated tear-drop with twisted fluting sits below the mid-mounted wine tray complete with attractive gilt metal perimeter fence.
A brass square centre pole rises and falls, providing height adjustment, locking in place with a thumb turn knob. A standard lamp fitting, which accepts the most common bayonet type household bulb, has a regular lamp shade frame attachment.
The adjustable height allows the piece to be easily set when used to illuminate a reading chair. The small integral wine table is a great place to rest a glass (and perhaps a pair of glasses too!).
The small size yet heavy base ensures that the lamp remains stable but does not eat up floor space and does allow the lamp to be positioned very close to the edge of another item of furniture.
The lamp is complete with shade. All standard shades will fit the piece.
The lamp has been re-wired and is supplied with a generous length cable and plug ready to use.
Overall this piece of furniture is in exceptional condition with fine colour. An excellent and unusual antique, beautifully detailed and very versatile.
