Stunning Birmingham 1847 Solid Silver Card Case by Famed Maker George Unite.

Description

Wonderful Birmingham 1847 English hallmarked solid silver card case by the renowned maker George Unite.

In a rare early Victorian example, with the young Victoria head mark, this lovely hinged top case has shaped edges with scroll engraving, and lovely alternating different stripe bright cut engraved designs. It has a raised blank cartouche to the front, suitable for engraving, and a foliate engraving to the centre of the back, a lovely touch.

Weight-heavy at 75 grams.

Size-3 7/8 inches long by 2.75 inches wide.

This card case will hold business cards, calling cards, and credit cards. It is a fine piece for a collection of novelty silver, or would make a great gift for an important occasion.

In very good condition.
