Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The top features three large winged cherub or putti figures among the clouds.

The silver is clearly hallmarked for London 1902, making this a very early Edwardian example; and of course the the initials for the silversmith, W.C.
The lid fits well, the hinge working perfectly, the interior finished with a lavish gilded surface. The box weighs 84.7 Grams / 2.73 Troy Ounces.
Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/4" long x 1 3/4" deep x 1 1/4" tall.
