This Victorian Etruscan Revival Grand Tour pendant consists of an 18-22ct gold mount set with an intricate micro-mosaic design. The circular central medallion depicts a black swallow surrounded by green foliage and pink roses against a light blue background. Four radiating arms extend outward, alternating between blue-patterned sections decorated with further pink roses and red-patterned sections with white accents. A fine Etruscan style bail attaches at the top, featuring twisted wirework texture and vertical ribbed mouldings. The micro-mosaic pieces are extremely tiny and tightly fitted throughout the entire surface of the cross-shaped body. In a modern interior, this pendant works well worn on a chain as a personal accessory or displayed in a collector's cabinet to appreciate the miniature hand-assembled tesserae work.
