George 1st Walnut Bachelors Chest

Description

George 1st bachelors chest circa 1720 of diminutive size being 29 inches wide and only 11.5 inches deep. The top is veneered in walnut with an ash herringbone border and cross banded to the perimeter, this carries on through to the four graduated drawers which are oak lined with early bold hand cut dovetail joints.Both top edge and bottom thumb mouldings are cross grained . The brasses have their original patina with a bronze like appearance.
