Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Grand Tour bronzes are eighteenth and nineteenth-century cast metal replicas of classical Greek and Roman statues, historically purchased by European travellers visiting cultural sites across Italy and Greece.

These figures were cast in bronze using the lost-wax (cire perdue) method, finished with hand-chasing, and typically mounted on imported marble or stone bases with dark patination.

Authentic period bronzes display refined hand-tooled drapery details, consistent patination wear on high relief points, and solid weight without modern machine seams.

Positioning a classical bronze figure on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or console table introduces architectural balance and historical contrast against contemporary backdrops.

Dust the figure regularly using a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush, and apply a thin layer of microcrystalline wax annually to guard the metal against oxidisation.
