Antique Early Furniture 19thc Ash & Elm Lace Makers Stool. English C1840-60.

Description

I couldn't resist this quality made small stool, used by the "lace-maker" to bring the light up closer to her work, by placing a candle on the top of the stool....I have often found these stools with the vice marks underneath from their clamp used to hold the lace, which also shows what they can be used for....this fine example has an elm top and finely turned ash legs....which both have gained a beautiful natural colour...in fine condition. English. C1840-60
