The desk is arranged with a central frieze drawer flanked by pairs of curved drawers to either side, each fitted with decorative metal drop handles. The figured flame mahogany drawer fronts are framed with contrasting line inlay, while the shaped top is inset with a green leather writing surface finished with gilt tooling around the edge.
Standing on slender turned and reeded legs terminating in brass castors, the desk is further enhanced by shaped curved stretchers beneath, giving the piece a particularly graceful and refined appearance.
With its distinctive kidney-shaped form and excellent decorative presence, this would make an impressive writing desk, dressing table or statement piece in a study, bedroom or drawing room.
