Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Ersari rugs are traditional hand-woven textiles created by the Ersari Turkmen tribe of Central Asia and northern Afghanistan. They are traditionally recognised by their deep red or terracotta palette and repeating octagonal motif designs known as guls.

These carpets are crafted using hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the foundation warp and weft. Dyes are historically derived from natural organic sources, such as madder root for warm red shades and indigo for dark navy accents.

Authentic pieces display hand-tied knots observable on the reverse side, along with slight variations in pattern symmetry. Natural dye variations, known as abrash, create subtle horizontal tonal bands across the wool pile.

A rich red Ersari carpet provides a grounding focal point on dark or pale timber floorboards. It pairs well with leather upholstery, dark wood furniture, or contemporary minimalist spaces seeking added depth and historic pattern.

Regular maintenance requires gentle suction vacuuming without a rotating beater bar to protect the pile fibres. Spills should be blotted immediately with a clean cloth, and professional hand-washing is recommended for periodic deep cleaning.
