Vintage 18ct White Gold Diamond Solitaire Ring with Diamond-set Shoulders

A gorgeous vintage diamond solitaire engagement ring, crafted in 18ct white gold and dating from the 1950s.

At its centre is a bright and lively brilliant-cut diamond, elegantly raised within a traditional eight-claw crown. Measuring approximately 4.5mm in diameter, the principal diamond is estimated to weigh around 0.40 carat and has a pleasing white appearance, assessed as approximately G/H colour and SI3 clarity.

The centre diamond is beautifully complemented by three smaller accent diamonds set into each gently tapering shoulder. These six additional diamonds introduce a delicate line of sparkle without detracting from the prominence of the solitaire.

Graceful pierced details beneath the crown and between the diamond-set shoulders give the ring a refined, airy appearance when viewed from the side. This is a particularly attractive feature of the design and is characteristic of finely made mid-century engagement rings.
