The exterior features richly figured walnut panels, carved detailing, turned finials and an elaborate raised crest. The two large panelled doors open to reveal an extensive arrangement of pigeonholes, document compartments and small drawers, including a striking bank of green-fronted drawers to the right-hand door.
The central fall front opens to provide a practical writing surface, with further fitted drawers and storage compartments below. Raised on carved supports with castors, this substantial desk combines remarkable craftsmanship with an abundance of useful storage.
