Gilt Metal Ewer Lamp, c.1900
A decorative gilt metal ewer of Rococo Revival design, dating to around 1900 and later adapted as a table lamp. The body is cast in base metal (spelter) with scrolling foliage, fruit and floral motifs in relief, together with a curved spout and handle. The original gilded finish has softened with age, showing patination and wear that add to its character.
Converted for electric use during the mid-20th century, the lamp is fitted with a candlestick-style bulb holder and UK plug. The wiring is older and should be checked before use.
Dimensions:
Height: 52 cm (to top of fitting)
Width: 20 cm
