Produced by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, this exceptional cabinet plate bears the date code for 1923 and is signed by the celebrated fruit painter Richard Sebright. The underside retains the original Bonhams auction labels, providing documented auction provenance.The central reserve is painted with two ripe apricots, three gooseberries and delicate blossom against a characteristic mossy ground. Surrounding the fruit study is an elaborate deep cobalt blue border, lavishly enriched with finely acid-etched hand-applied gold leaf incorporating stylised roses, scrolling foliage and an inner gilt leaf wreath. This highly labour-intensive decoration is characteristic of Royal Worcester''s finest cabinet plates of the period.
