Antique Tetex Carpet. (Pair Available)

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a truly beautiful handwoven carpet by the Tetex Munich carpet manufacturing company. The carpet is in very soft wool and is in the Caucasian Kazak style. Tetex were renowned for the quality and design of their carpets which were made in the early part of the 20th Century, very much in the between war years. This carpet has a bold design featuring birds animals and geometric motifs to its three medallion design. The colours are absolutely wonderful, being strong and vibrant. It is a tufted hand woven carpet and yet has an incredibly soft handle and luxurious feel. The carpet is in excellent condition throughout and measures 305 cms by 201 cms, making it a great room size.

We currently have another of these beautiful carpets should you require both for a larger room or an adjoining room.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
