Quality Antique Tetex Carpet / Rug

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a good hand woven carpet by the Tetex Munich carpet manufacturing company dating from around 1900. The carpet is in very soft wool and is in the Ersari Ensi Turkman style. Tetex were renowned for the quality and design of their carpets which were made in the early part of the 20th century, very much between the war years. It is a tufted hand woven carpet and yet has an incredibly soft handle and luxurious feel. This carpet is in excellent condition throughout and has an attractive design with quartered panels surrounded by diamond shaped medallions. It has a warm colour palette of russet ground with pistachio, mustard, olive, camel and aubergine shades in the detail of the design.

This is a practical size measuring 226 cms by 122 cms.
