Description

A William IV mahogany height-adjustable leather seated Music Stool.

The single lotus carved column, features foliate socle, incurve triform base and fluted bun feet. Height adjustable from lowest 52cm to highest 74cm. Seat 32cm square. Finished (later) in Green Leather. Although unstamped this is probably the product of the famous cabinetmaker Gillows of Lancaster. The carving to the column is identical to other known Gillows pieces, as is the structure of construction.
