Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Karaja rugs are traditional hand-knotted textiles produced in the Heriz region of Northwest Iran. Characterised by their geometric patterns, central starburst medallions, and bold colour palettes, they are frequently woven in narrow runner formats.

These runners are woven using hand-spun wool pile knotted onto a cotton or wool foundation warp and weft. Traditional dyes derived from natural plant and mineral sources provide the characteristic navy blue, terracotta, and ochre hues.

Authentic pieces feature distinct geometric motifs, including large central step-medallions or latch-hook star figures set along a central field. Visual inspection reveals asymmetrical knots, natural abrash colour variations, and durable hand-finished side selvedges.

Position a runner in an entry hallway, corridor, or kitchen pathway to add texture and architectural interest alongside timber or stone flooring. Pair the geometric tribal design with neutral wall colours to allow the carpet patterns to serve as a visual anchor.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotating brush to prevent fibre damage. Position a quality non-slip underlay beneath the carpet to reduce friction and seek specialist cleaning for spot removal or restoration.
